Consistency: The consistency of the nail paint is very good and a single coat is enough to give an even coating of intense color. The nail paint dries quickly to a smooth glossy finish. The nail paint doesn’t streak on application and doesn’t chip upto 4-5 days.

Shade Selection:  This range has 10 shades including a green and white shade as well though the shades I liked most were Candy drop and Cozy mulberry. The color I have on is #92 ‘Candy drop’ . The color can best be described as a coral pink. It does not have any shimmer and dries to a glossy matte finish. I love this shade flatters my hands and gives them a soft feminine look.

These nail paints are Toluene and DBP free. This is the biggest plus point of this nail paint. Toluene, DBP and formaldehyde are known as the ‘toxic trio‘ among the ingredients used in nail paints. Read on to know why-

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)

Role: adds flexibility and a moisturizing sheen, and helps dissolve other cosmetic ingredients.

Effect: acts as a  reproductive and developmental toxin that has been linked to feminizing effects in baby boys

Toluene

Role: helps suspend the color and form a smooth finish across the nail.

Effect:  affects the central nervous system and can cause headaches, dizziness and fatigue ,  is a possible reproductive and developmental toxin.

Formaldehyde

Role:  found in some nail products such as nail hardener.

Effect: is a known human carcinogen. It is also an irritant to the eyes, nose and throat, and can lead to skin irritation and an allergic rash called dermatitis.

Final Verdict : Its one of the best nail paints among common drugstore brands as far as consistency and paint quality is concerned with the added benefit of absence of toxic ingredients. The shade selection could have been better though.

Rating : 4.5 /5 (half point taken for limited shades )
