Spring/Summer look#4 : Neutral Bronzed look FOTD

Hi everyone!

Today I’m doing a Neutral bronzed look which is quite in vogue this summer and can be worn with any outfit, western or traditional for the daytime or evening.

Final look :

Neutral bronzed look FOTD

Summary of the look-

On a well moisturized face, conceal required areas, apply Β foundation, set with powder and apply bronzer on the apple of the cheek swept up to the hairline. Dust the remaining powder on brush all over face for a lightly bronzed look. For the eyes, apply frosty brown eyeshadow all over lid , highlight browbone and inner corner, line eyes with brown pencil and finish off with mascara. For the lips, use a natural shade lipstick and finish off with clear or pink-beige gloss.

Products used :

1. MAC eyeshadows- Sable , Twinks

2. Maybelline chai latte quad (browbone highlighter, crease shade)

3. Bourjois Kohl and Contour eye pencil ‘Brun expressif’ (dark brown shade for lining upper lash line)

4. MAC Smolder (kohl on waterline)

5. Maybelline colossal volume mascara

6. MAC #222 brush (for blending) , unbranded brush for applying shadows.

Steps :

You can apply single eyeshadow all over lid or use 2 shades- one lighter and one darker (of same color and undertone). I have used 2 shades here- Sable and Twinks. Both are frosty brown shades with plum/red undertone but Twinks is a little darker than Sable.

1. Apply Sable on inner half of lid, Twinks on outer half.

2. Using blending brush , blend in the crease with matte dark brown eyeshadow.

3. Apply brow bone highlight shade under brow and in the inner corner near the tear duct. Blend the brow bone shade with the crease color.

4. Apply kohl on waterline, smudge on lower lash line with dark brown matte eyeshadow (Crease color).

5. Line upper lash line with brown pencil for a softer look. Finish off with a coat of mascara.

  1. This look is very classy -looking extremely sobre yet fashionable. This can be done during day and evening both. Will try this out sometime.

  2. you love your oranges… don’t you? This is looking good on you and am book marking this for reference.. i think i can pull it off πŸ™‚

  3. love ur look, i always wanted to get that perfect dewy look. what moisturiser do u use before applying makeup. do u use a sunscreen too and then apply makeup over it.thanks in advance

    • Thanks Chandana πŸ™‚ If I’m doing makeup for the daytime, I use sunscreen over moisturizer, before applying foundation. I’ve used Oriflame aloe vera extract moisturizer here. The dewy look is cos I use very less compact powder to set my foundation and the also because of the flash.

    • I’ve also highlighted all the high parts of the face in this look (cheekbones and brow bone) which further adds to light reflection, hence the dewy look.

  4. which highihter ankita??
    is it MAC???
i have the rose ole’ from the MAC cham pale collection..its beautiful and so not in your face…you must see that if yu visit mac next( i.e if u dont own it already;)

    • πŸ™‚ I don’t own a lot of MAC stuff actually! I’ve seen swatches of Rose ole’ and it looks gorgeous. For the cheekbones , I’ve used the bronzer, it has fine shimmer so it gives that ‘glow’. And for the browbone area I’ve used the highlight shade from Maybelline chai latte eyeshadow quad (pictured above).

  5. this look though ‘bronzed “is not OTT at all…loved twinks…on my wish list now….sighhhhhhhhhh
the list gets longer and longer….:)

    • Twinks and Sable both are lovely shades. My favorites for a neutral look- not too shimmery but not too dull either. And if you want to go for a more dramatic look- use MAC Smolder on lids and apply shadows on top of it for a more intense dramatic look.

  6. hey ankita, thanks for the reply, sunscreen which do u use coz most of the sunscreens are greasy. i want to say i love ur blog,u makde it so easy to try out the looks.

    • Thank you Chandana πŸ™‚ I use Lotus 3-in-1 matte sunscreen. Previously I used to use Lacto calamine lotion but I didn’t feel like it provided enough sun protection. The Lotus one is excellent. I haven’t tried any other from Lotus but this 3-in-1 matte gives a very good matte finish and gets absorbed instantly into the skin.

  7. Thats such a natural look ankita ..and you changed your clothes in the last pic πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

  8. loveed it….nice,simple n sweet..

  9. I saw the revlon bronzer today! was looking around and wanted to try the photo-ready foundation/. πŸ˜› its for 1500 inr.

  10. I like the warmth in your look

  11. Super dooper looksss….me like it sooo muchhh….:)
