Sonam Kapoor Jean Paul Gaultier dress and Makeup at Cannes 2011
Hi everyone!
Cannes Film Festival 2011 saw the debut of Indian fashion Icon Sonam Kapoor who is a brand ambassador for L’oreal and is known for her fashion forward style . Sonam chose to wear a white gown by Jean Paul Gaultier. The makeup was of course by L’oreal makeup artists. Going with the modernistic design of the dress, black/gold smokey eyes and nude lips was the choice of makeup.
I like the dress (the hump at the back is beginning to grow on me!) especially the fitting at the top and the padding and gauzy fabric going over one shoulder all the way down to the arm.
MAKEUP!
The two things I noticed right off were- firstly, her face is looking a little muddy, not sun kissed! (too much bronzer or maybe darker shade of foundation?) and secondly, the eye makeup does not look very neat.
Since the dress has a very modern feel, smokey eyes and nude lips are the perfect choice of makeup but I do not like the choice of shades of eye shadows. I would have personally paired the black with a taupy silver shade, not gold. L’oreal makup artists seem to be preferring gold over silver/gray (Remember Aishwarya Rai’s Day 2 makeup with the navy/white Armani Prive dress)
Like the nail paint!

i agree on the muddy part..and honestly i think loreal makeup artists have gone cuckoo!! horrible eye makeup for sonam as well as ash..!! its not evn creative.. nor is it finished.. plain ghastly!!!
but i do love her dress..its ridiculously awesome! 😀
The eye makeup looked so messy and I didn’t like their choice of shades either. Agree about the dress..it has very crisp, modern feel and yet quite feminine.
