Chambor dazzle eye liner pencil Review, Swatches

Hi everyone!

Today I’m reviewing Chambor dazzle eye liner pencil. I have the shades Black, Purple, Grey, Teal and Gold from this range. From the no. of shades I own, you can guess as to how much I love these eye pencils! The first one I picked for the purple one and the formula and staying power was so good that I purchased more shades later.

Price: Rs 445

Quantity : 0.28 g

The transformation from a dark room to a magically lit up one will never fail to charm, attract or DAZZLE you…. Much like Chambor’s New DAZZLE EYEPENCILS with its new skate formula that allows for smooth application and perfect colour with a one stroke precise application. At a party or even for daily wear this pencil and the colours it is available in will go a long way to Dazzle you.

  • No Animal Ingredients.
  • Non – Comodogenic.
  • Dermatologist Tested.
  • Opthalmologist Tested.
My take on the product :
Packaging: It comes in a one-way twist up liner form encased in a plastic body made of the same shade as the liner. The body has silver patterns and the shade name written in silver lettering. The packaging is quite attractive but the one way twist up form is not the most convenient to use. The cap doesn’t fit with a click so one does not feel sure whether the pencil is closed or if accidentally the tip has been damaged.

Formula : The product gets full marks on the formula. Texture is super creamy yet not so creamy that it will transfer to lashes on contact. It glides beautifully on the lid and can be used on the lower lash line too. It is however not advisable to use it on waterline since some of the shades contain very fine shimmer and that may irritate the eye. The pencil is very pigmented and gives good color in single swipe. I however like going over it 2-3 times for an intense color. The tip of a brand new piece is sharp but it gets blunt on use and thus cannot be used to draw thin lines.

The formula is long stay and does not go off till removed by an oil based makeup remover. I have worn this pencil on a long train journey and 24 hours later also the pencil was intact on my lids. Some of the shades have a pearl finish and the shimmer is very fine and does not hurt the eye at all. It is long staying and thus is not removed in a single swipe. 4-5 swipes are needed . A better option is to let the cleanser sit on it for a few seconds, then it comes off in 1 swipe.

Shade selection: It comes in 9 shades- Black, Brown, Blue, Green, Purple, Teal, Gold, Silver and Gray. Most shades have a pearl/glossy finish.

The GOOD about Chambor Dazzle eye liner  pencil –
1. Attractive packaging of colored plastic to identify shades easily.
2. Creamy formula that glides on lids easily.
3. Very pigmented.
4. Long stay formula- stays until removed with cleanser.
5. Waterproof.
6. Glossy/pearl finish that gives a bright look to the eyes.
7. Good shade selection.
8. No animal ingredients.
9. Opthalmologically and Dermatologically tested.
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Chambor Dazzle eye liner pencil –
1. Packaging : cap doesn’t close with a click. One way twist up form- if you twist up more than you need, you cannot retract it.
2. Doesn’t remove very easily.
3. Pricey for given quantity (0.28 g)
4. Cannot draw thin lines with it as tip becomes blunt.
Overall Verdict: It is creamy, pigmented , long stay pencil packaged in an attractive but not very convenient one way twist up form. The formula is brilliant but it is expensive especially for the given quantity. The shade selection is good and shades have a glossy pearl finish that looks very attractive on the eyes. I was drawn to this range because of its formula but with more reasonable options like Faces available, I would skip these.
Rating : 3.75/5
Will I repurchase: With similar formula available at half the price in other brands, I will not be repurchasing these.

For the eyes, apply kohl on lid as base and smudge, apply plummy brown (or any neutral shade) eyeshadow all over lid and blend at the crease. Moisturize face well before eye makup and apply concealer, foundation and compact after completing eye makeup. Apply a warm blush under the cheekbones and blend upwards. How to coordinate makeup with outfit Vol 1 : Makeup looks to suit every outfit

Hi everyone,

I’m starting a series of posts on How to coordinate makeup with outfit after receiving requests from a few readers. While starting out with makeup, I myself struggled with coordinating lip colors, eye makeup and blush with the outfit and the occasion. It seems overwhelming at first but a little knowledge about colors and practice over time makes it easy as you go along.

This is just a basic guideline for those starting out with makeup , who find themselves at a loss on how to coordinate colors and clothes and end up either making a makeup blunder or wearing the same makeup over and over again.

In Volume 1 of this series of posts, I’m doing a few looks that can be worn with any outfit.

Hope you find this useful 🙂

1. Neutral Smokey eyes and nude lips

A basic smokey eye using neutral shades like brown, grey, khaki or even black for a dramatic look , paired with nude lips and blush.

Guideline : If you’re using a nude lipstick with a cool undertone (pink, mauve) use a cool toned blush and if you’re using a warm toned nude lipstick, use a warm blush or bronzer.

I have paired plummy brown smokey eyes with a warm blush(Maybelline Apricot Flush) with a nude lipstick with a coral undertone(Lakme Enrich #133 from Lakme Fantasy Collection)

2. Natural look

For this look, use an eyeshadow close to your skin tone, use liner, kajal/brown kohl, mascara and pair it with blush and lipstick close to your skin tone for a natural effect. Read complete post HERE.

3. Dewy Pink look

Moisturized skin, natural pink cream blush, a little highlighter on cheekbones and glossy pink lips is the simplest way to get this look.  Read the full post on dewy pink look HERE and HERE.

4. Contoured eyes with statement lips

Add a little more dimension to the eyes by blending a dark brown eyeshadow into the outer corner and crease, wear liner on upper lash line and skip the kohl. Finish with mascara. Pair this with a statement lip and a hint of earthy blush. Read complete post HERE.

5. Smoldering Summer eyes

One of the quick everyday look, apply kohl on upper and lower lash line, smudge and set with powder eyeshadow of your choice- grey, plum, brown, black, khaki etc. Pair with a natural looking lipstick/gloss and you’re done! Read tutorial on how to do this eye makeup HERE.

6. Cat eyes and glossy nude lips

For a slightly dramatic look, ditch the regular liner for a cat eyes look. Pair with neutral lipstick or gloss. Read full post HERE.

Sonam Kapoor in Vivienne Westwood and Masaba at Cannes 2011

Hi everyone!

As most of you know, Sonam Kapoor made her debut at Cannes Film Festival this year in a  white and grey Jean Paul Gaultier gown.

View pictures of her debut dress and makeup HERE.

While the first look was a bit disappointing, her look in a Royal blue Vivienne Westwood creation for a L’oreal photoshoot more than made up for it!!

Love the color of the dress. The fabric and draping of the dress is flattering her figure and the heels add a nice touch. Love the hair and makeup, wish I could get a better picture! The shades add an element of mystery to this glamorous , sensuous look.

I liked this look best amongst all that she wore at Cannes 2011 followed by her debut look in the white Jean Paul Gaultier creation.

Sonam made some rather different choices of looks which is evident in the following pics –

I like the combination of sun kissed bronzed skin and orange lips but there is an unflattering overload of bronzer here!!

Sale at Inglot, free gifts at Maybelline and my new Facebook Page

Hi everyone!

Few updates –

Inglot, Mumbai is having a sale upto 35% on selected items. Got this info from Rashmi of Indyabeauty (Thanks Rashmi 🙂 !)

I called up to ask till when would the sale last. The lady on the other end of the phone said that she doesn’t know that herself but it will last another 3-4 at least.

Phone.No :  022 – 32986002

Address :  G 7 Mall Andheri(W) , Mumbai

I think its time for my first Inglot Haul! Have wanted to pick up Inglot Duraline since a long time now. For those not familiar with Duraline, you can read the review HERE

Also, Maybelline is giving free gifts with purchase of Rs 700/- and above. For Rs 700/- you get a pair of sunglasses free, for purchase of Rs 1000/- you get the striped multi colored trousseau box(image shown below) and for purchase of over Rs 1500/- you get another slightly larger (and prettier!) golden trousseau box.

I personally find these boxes very useful while travelling. In fact on my recent trip home, I carried all my makeup in a Lotus Herbals trousseau box and non of my items broke or got damaged. I’ve had an experience of a broken MAC Sheer pressed powder once 😦

And lastly, I’ve just created my Facebook Fan Page…I’m still in the process of updating so it’ll take a little time for it to be complete. You can still view it and like it HERE. I’ve also added a link to my page in the sidebar. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!!
