Revlon colorstay mineral finishing powder ‘Sunkiss Radieux’ Review, swatch and FOTD
Hi everyone!
Today I’m reviewing one my favorite products- one you have seen me use very often in my looks- Revlon colorstay mineral finishing powder ‘Sunkiss Radieux‘. Basically, this product is a bronzer containing very fine bronze colored shimmer particles which can be used in many different ways.
Story behind my purchase: This is one of my earliest makeup purchases. I’d just started reading about makeup and the products I was really fascinated with were ‘bronzer’ and ‘highlighter’. I was Beauty Centre, Khar and I asked the Colorbar SA for a bronzer. She did not understand what I meant by ‘bronzer’ but the Revlon SA at the next counter heard me and directed me to her counter where she showed me this product. Now what I was actually looking for a contouring powder but I did not know what to call it then, so I just kept referring it to as bronzer. The moment she showed me this product, I was mesmerized by the baked finish and the bronze and brown veining in the product! It was expensive but since I was shopping with my Mum she told me to take it. The Revlon SA also showed me a highlighter by the name of illuminating powder but that was quite expensive too so I decided to just pick up the bronzer.
Price: Around 1400-1500
Quantity: 8.79 g
Packaging says: All over enhancing color in a talc-free mineral formula with Colorstay longwear.
My experience with the product :
Packaging: It comes in a square packaging with the baked powder sitting in a dome shape at the centre and a transparent lid on the top. The packaging is sturdy, travel friendly and the transparent lid allows the user to see the bronzer. I find the packaging very attractive! The quantity provided is a lot..8.79 gms and it has lasted me 6 months now and will easily do many more. The product was dome shaped when I had purchased it but with use it has flattened down.
The only con is that no brush or mirror is provided with it.
Ingredients: The product is not listed on the website and no information is given on the product except for ‘talc-free’ and ‘mineral’ formula. But it has never irritated my oily acne prone sensitive skin. I find it very comfortable and light to wear.
Formula: The formula is like that of the baked powder hence they are better compacted than normal powders having a harder surface. But the product is smooth and picks up very uniformly with a brush, sponge or even fingertips. The shimmer is very fine and not chunky and is not visible easily. It is just there is a micro form to add a satiny sheen to the skin. The color is a perfect mix of bronze-brown with an orange undertone and wud suit all skin tones beautifully.
This is my most used product hands down after sunscreen, kajal and lip balm and I tend to reach out for it everytime I do a warm toned makeup. Even with cool toned makeup, I use this just on the cheekbones for a bit of subtle highlighting. It is pigmented but not too pigmented and hence it is easy to use especially for beginners and the pigmentation can be built up. The different colored veining does not hinder the useability or alter the color of the product. Brush picks up uniform color.
WAYS TO USE THIS PRODUCT:
1. As blush on apples to cheeks and blended towards hairline.
2. Under the cheekbones and blended towards the apples of the cheeks.
3. As highlighter on cheekbones.
4.All over the face for a bronzed glow.
I generally use it as a blush using a brush and after applying it on the cheeks, I use the leftover product on the brush on the entire face.
Staying power : Used as a blush it lasts a long time. I’ve never worn it more than for more than 6-7 hours but I feel it can last even more than that. Fades evenly with time and the warm glow still remains on the face.
The GOOD about Revlon colorstay mineral finishing powder ‘Sunkiss Radieux’
1. Sturdy, attractive, travel friendly packaging.
2. Attractive product with baked finish showing bronze-brown veining.
3. Texture is smooth, pigmentation is good with buildable intensity.
4. Gives a warm glow to the skin that looks natural.
5. Shimmer is very fine and shows up only as a sheen on the cheeks.
6. Does make my oily skin look too shiny or accentuate the pores.
7. Coverage and color intensity is buildable- easy to use for beginners.
8. Multipurpose- use as blush, highlighter, all over face finishing powder.
9. Talc free and mineral based.
10. Stays on skin for a long time.
The NOT SO GOOD about Revlon colorstay mineral finishing powder ‘Sunkiss Radieux’
1. No brush or mirror with packaging.
2.Ingredients not given, product not listed on the site.
3. Expensive. But since the product itself is so awesome and it’ll last me a long long time, I find the price justified.
Here is how it looks on me –
Overall Verdict: Its a baked mineral powder with a bronze finish that can be used as blush, highlighter or all over the face for a subtle glow. The formula is brilliant and pigmentation can be built up for a more intense look. Comes in a very attractive packaging which is sturdy and travel friendly but lacks a mirror and brush. The shade will work well for all skin tones. Seems expensive but the product is excellent in quality as well as quantity and last a long time.
Will I repurchase: Yes!
Rating: 4.5/5

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face mist REVIEW
Hi everyone!
Today I’m reviewing a product that has become a staple in my everyday makeup routine. My skin goes through cycles of normal /combination/ oily and dry weather or AC environments tend to dehydrate my skin especially around the nose and mouth. Generally after applying compact I would notice some dry patches of my face but skipping compact would make my skin oily after some time.
To solve this problem, I used rosewater spray on my face after completing my makeup (by filling up rose water in an empty Lotus Basiltone spray bottle). That did help to some extent but I’d generally end up with more than required rosewater on my face. I almost bought MAC Fix+ on visits to the MAC Store many times but couldn’t bring myself to spend Rs 800 on a facial mist! Finally, I picked up this cheaper alternative to MAC Fix+ from The Body Shop on a recent visit home with my Mum.
The Body Shop facial mists come in 2 ranges- The Vitamin E one priced at Rs 595 and The Vitamin C one priced at Rs 745.
Quantity : 100 ml
What the website says about the product : A quick skin pick-me up and excellent for setting make-up. Spritz it on for instant refreshment, moisture, and protection. With a delicate rosewater scent.
Contains : Vitamin E – Is a naturally powerful and one of the best antioxidants that help protect the skin against damaging environmental elements, such as the sun, pollution and cigarette smoke. Helps neutralise free radicals, which are destructive molecules that attack cell
Glycerine – Is an effective moisturiser which helps improve softness and maximise hydration.
Liposomes and lecithin – Help the skin quickly absorb the vitamin e and restore the skin’s moisture balance.
Tips : The Vitamin E Face Mist can be sprayed over make-up to seal it after applying. Carry it with you while travelling, especially if you are flying long haul.
Instructions : Close your eyes and hold the bottle 10 cm away from your face. Spray onto the face once or twice and allow to dry.
Ingredients :
My take on the product :
Packaging : It comes in a pretty baby pink colored plastic bottle with a pump spray at the top. The spray part is covered with a transparent plastic cap. The packaging is quite sturdy and the cap fits well over the pump. I’ve traveled with it and I did not face any problem. The spray does not give a wet shower on you face- held at the right distance, it gives just the right amount of product. The one is that the body is opaque so I have no idea how much product I’m using or how much is left.
Fragrance : It has a light rosewater fragrance which is quite refreshing. The fragrance fades within 2-3 minutes of application.
About the mist : The product is watery, like rose water and does not make the skin the oily or greasy on spraying. I generally spray it on my face after completing my makeup and it removes the powdery look I tend to get after applying compact sometimes. It gives a dewy hydrated look to my face and settles my makeup. I use 2 spritzes on my face- one on the left and one on the right so that my entire face is covered. I’ve used this and gone out in the sun and my face still looks fresh after 3-4 hours outside. I use it sometimes to moisten brushes for wet application of eye shadows or on foundation brush while applying foundation and it works well. I have not used MAC Fix+ so don’t know it compares to it but I love this product ! I use this everyday before I step out and I love the healthy look it gives to my skin.
The GOOD about The Body Shop Vitamin E facial mist :
1. Packaging is pretty and sturdy- Travel friendly, hygienic and easy to use.
2. Pump is quite good and dispenses a light mist over the face when held at proper distance.
3. Refreshing rose water fragrance that diffuses after a few minutes.
4. Removes powdery or dehydrated look from the face.
5. Gives a dewy healthy look to my skin- does not make it oily or greasy.
6. Settles my makeup.
7.Can be used to wet eye shadows or to moisten brushes/sponges while applying makeup.
The NOT-SO-GOOD about The Body Shop Vitamin E facial mist :
1. Packaging is opaque so can’t see how much product is getting consumed.
2. EXPENSIVE! I love this product but I’m hoping one bottle would last me the summers.
3. Contains parabens.
Overall Verdict: It is a light watery facial mist infused with rosewater fragrance that gives a healthy dewy moisturized look to the skin and settles the makeup. It is must-have for me in the summers especially because heavy moisturizing or skipping compact makes my skin greasy but compact topped with this spray helps it stay hydrated and non-greasy for a long time. The scent is quite refreshing and fades within few minutes. Would have preferred transparent packaging so that one can have an idea how much product is being consumed. Can be used to moisten brushes/sponges for wet application of products. It is definitely better than plain rose water but I don’t know how it compares with MAC Fix+.
I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to everyone. It’ll work well with all skin types. I do find it a little expensive but I’m hoping this one bottle would last me the summer after which I wouldn’t need it.
Rating : 4.5/5 (for reasons listed above)
Will I repurchase : Yes, for next summers.

Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher ‘Rose Crush’ : Review, Swatch and FOTD
Hi everyone!
Today I’m reviewing one of the favorite blushes – LAKME Pure rouge blusher in the shade ‘Rose Crush‘ . It is a matte earthy pink powder blush which gives an earthy rosy glow and looks very flattering for Indian skin tones.
Price : Rs 395
Quantity : 6 g
Packaging : It has a rectangular maroon(signature Lakme!) sleek casing with a transparent cover and brush provided inside. This casing comes housed in a maroon cardboard casing open at two opposite ends so the inside casing can be slid out easily. The packaging is quite sturdy and the transparent cover snaps shut snugly. The brush provided is of good quality, the bristles are quite soft and does the job of application quite well. I don’t require another blush brush when using this blush. The only con of the packaging is the absence of a mirror for touch ups.
Texture and Pigmentation : The texture is quite silky and soft. The finish is exactly as described -‘silky matte’ finish. The blush applies easily and blending is not a problem. The pigmentation of this blush is amazing- I just need to lightly touch the tip of the brush on the surface and that quantity is sufficient for one cheek. It is definitely going to last me a long time!
Lasting Power: I have worn this blush for 5-6 hours and the color intensity faded very slightly post the 3 hour period. I haven’t worn it for longer than 6 hours but I find the lasting powder and finish much better than Colorbar blushes.
It sits very well on my normal/oily skin, did not break me out and does not change appearance/shade as time passes (Some blushes tend to get darker due to body/heat or oil secretion from skin as time passes)
Shade: This particular shade ‘Rose crush’ is a matte brownish shade with a rosy pink undertone. It looks very flattering on medium-dusky skin tones and might look a little dark on light skin tones. It is the kind of shade that goes with any outfit and any eye/ lip makeup. Whenever I’m in doubt as to which blush to pick, I reach out for this one. It is neither too cool-toned not too warm-toned.
This is how it looks on me. I’ve used the blush with a heavy hand so that it shows up well is pictures.
The GOOD about Lakme Pure rouge blusher ‘Rose Crush’ –
1. Sturdy packaging with transparent casing- easy to locate the blush.
2. Excellent quality brush provided.
3. Highly pigmented and silky soft texture, glides easily on skin and blends easily.
4. Stays for 5-6 hours with slight fading.
5. Did not break me out or darken on the face with time.
6. Good quantity and quality for the price.
7. Very flattering shade that goes with any eye/lip makeup and any outfit.
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Lakme Pure rouge blusher ‘Rose Crush’ –
1. No mirror provided with the blush for touch-ups.
2. Packaging not-so-attractive.
Final Verdict : It is a highly pigmented powder blush with a silky matte finish and 5-6 hours lasting power. The packaging is sturdy with an excellent brush but no mirror for touch ups. The shade ‘Rose crush’ is an earthy rosy pink shade which looks very flattering on medium/dusky skin tones and goes easily with any eye/lip makeup and outfit. One of my favorite blushes as far as shade and quality goes. The packaging could have been more attractive.
Will I repurchase ? I won’t need to. I’d pick up more shades from this range but only the matte finish ones.
Rating : 4.5 /5 (-0.5 for no mirror in packaging)
Breakdown of look :
EYES :
1. MAC Smolder
2. Bourjois ombre stretch eye shadow in navy blue shade
3. Maybelline colossal volume mascara
4. Random stiff brush
FACE :
1. MAC Studio fix fluid foundation NC 40
2. Chambor Silver Shadow compact
3. MAC Select moisture cover concealer NC 45.5
