Aishwarya Rai Cannes 2011 inspired Blue and Bronze look
Hi everyone!
Today I’m doing a Blue and bronze look inspired by Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes 2011 makeup that she wore with the blue and white Armani Prive outfit.
I loved the blue used by the L’oreal artists on her lids but did not like the pairing with gold on the lower lash line. In my version of this makeup, I skipped the gold for a subtler coppery/bronze shade on the lower lash line.
Warm colors when paired with blues and green bring out their color because of the contrast and this is what I’ve done here. The blue shade used is a iridescent midnight blue shade (Read review HERE) and it quite bright , so I’ve kept the lip and cheek makeup understated with a nude warm lippy and bronzed cheeks for a balanced look.
The eye makeup is very simple and the most important product you need is a vibrant blue eyeshadow.
Products used :
EYES :
1. Bourjois ombre stretch eyeshadow #14 ‘Blue Nuit irise’
2. Coastal scents 88 palette (marked shade)
3. VOV pigment (copper/bronze shade)
4. Lotus Herbals kajal
5. Maybelline colossal volume mascara
6. MAC Blending brush 222
Steps:
1. Apply the blue shade all over lid. (Use primer first, I haven’t used one since I was testing the eyeshadow).
2. Blend the shade in the crease using marked shade from Coastal Scents palette and use it right upto the browbone.
3. Apply kohl on waterline.
4. Apply bronzer/coppery shade on lower lash line.
5. Finish off with mascara.
FACE :
1. Lotus Herbals Naturablend swift makeup ‘Creamy Peach’
2. Chambor silver shadow compact ‘RR2 Rose pale’
3. Maybelline expert wear blush ‘Apricot flush’
4. Revlon colorstay mineral finishing powder ‘Sunkiss Radieux’
LIPS :
1. Lakme enrich lipstick #133 from Fantasy collection.
2. MAC Cream color base ‘Improper copper’
Finished look :

hey lovely blue…..me cant really make out the bronze tho…so sice u want to keep it subtle i think bronze is better….gold might look ott
Thanks 🙂 The bronze is on the lower lash line…
ya me saw that…howev i mean its subtle ,cant be seen like shining..so even good for day wear
Yes 🙂 I like bronze and blue combination much more than gold and blue
ankit a..i simply love d way u explain step by step way of using eye makeup 🙂 infact i wud be sending few queries of mine ..do help me wid dat..:P n plz do keep this simplified way of explaing for ppl like us 🙂
Thank u Preeti 🙂 So happy you found it useful. Do send me your queries, I’d love to answer them.
pretty…I like the blue..
Thanks Bhumika 🙂
i love your take on the look. dare say better than the original. she is looking too pale. you used a nice deeper colour. also how is the lotus stick .. have u used it as a concealer.
Thank you Supriya 🙂 The Lotus stick is quite good, the shade matches me perfectly and it blends very well. I’ve used it as a concealer and all over the face too. It doesn’t conceal my dark circles very effectively though. The only con for me it since it is stick form, my skin feels a little oily after an hour or two but nothing that a little dab with a tissue cannot take care of.
Awesome look Ankita !!You have blended the blue one nicely,I would have liked to see same look with same hairstyle as Ash !!!
Thank you Tapaswini 🙂 Ahh..I wish I could do hairstyles like that on my own *sigh*
I wanted to ask to to add green!:) Is beautiful you know what! and I liked her blue eyes too. You’ve done such a great job!:)
Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
lovely
i love how lite u go on ur lippies
i just dont have that skill:)
i have to ghisofy the lipstick
n those vov thingies ….
i have to get them

Thank you Neha :PI generally pat my lips with my finger after I’ve applied to remove the excess otherwise I look really bad
I picked up the VOV pigments from Beauty Centre. They have brances in Ghatkopar, Kandivli, Crawford market and Khar. I picked it from the Khar branch.
superb!! better than ash’s sachi!
Thank you 🙂
i liked her blue and gold but i dont like the fact that the gold line is sooo thick dts it….
blog ka makeover … arre waah congrats 😀
Its not suiting her ! You saw her day 3 makeup in the Lanvin dress? That was really gorgeous! Yes blog ka makeover 😀 ..like it or was the prev one better?
ya loved that outfit as well as makeup and hair.. exactly its not suiting her.!! its getting too bold for her..
yaa i like the makeover…. i liked it both ways actualy but this ones more precise.. coz ur comments come in a distinguished colour box :))
She looked great in that. For once no off shoulder or strapless outfit 😐
Thanks! I like the lime green title bar in my comments 😛
Hi, Loveeeellly makeup, better than what the Loreal guys have done to Ash. Her lips are too subtle. I guess these makeup companies should hire some of YOU people, i.e. skilled artists to make the heroines look better. I even dont like the kind of makeup done on Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. It makes them look so dull. I just hope that you get a chance to show your magic on them.
That is quite a compliment Garima 🙂 I’m not a makeup artist btw 😛 but thank you so much for appreciating!
