My favorite celebrity Red lips looks : Part 1

Hi everyone!

Red lips are glamorous and always in vogue, I have been lately bitten by the ‘red lips’ bug and those who’ve been following my blog would have seen my numerous looks with red lips. I’d shied away from red lips earlier  but I’d attribute by love for red lips to my discovery of my perfect red shade – Revlon Colorburst ‘Crimson’.

Here are a few of my favorite celebrity red lips looks  in no particular order-

1. Taylor Swift

Whether its the modern-fairytale tale look with her loose blonde curls or an elegant red carpet look , she pulls off red lips with such ease. Definitely one of my favorites!

How to wear this look : Use a shimmery silver- champagne eyeshadow all over lid especially in the inner corners, thick winged black liner on upper lash line, natural brown/flesh colored liner on waterline and  lots of mascara (or better, false eye lashes ) paired with rosy pink cheeks.

2. Diane Kruger

I love her natural eye and cheek makeup in this look.Pair this makeup with a pink lipstick/gloss for the day and glam it up with a red lippie for the evening.

How to wear this look : Shimmery champagne eye shadow all over lid and inner corners, thin black line of eye liner on upper lid, natural brown liner on water line, light brown eye shadow on outer half  of lower lash line and natural defined lashes paired with rosy pink blush.

3. Kim Kardashian

Now here’s one lady who likes it super-glam!  Bold eyes +bold lips = makeup disaster but I think she pulls it off really well. This look is definitely not for the faint hearted.

How to wear this look :

Look 1 : Intense blue -grey smokey eyes paired with earthy brown blush (Like Colorbar ‘Just Earth’)

Look 2: Thick black winged liner with long , dense eye lashes (false eye lashes a must here!) , white pencil on waterline and long, defined lower lashes paired with earthy pink blush.

4. Leighten Meester 

Another one who favors the red lips look- be it casual , red carpet elegant or disastrous , she has worn it all . I personally like her first casual look a lot- its red and yet it looks quite natural!

How to wear this look :

Look 1 & 2 : Subtle flesh colored frosty eye shadow all over lid and on lower lash line, defining mascara with a hint of earthy pink blush on the apples of the cheeks.

Look 3: I would never advise anyone to wear that look 😐

5. Gwen Stefani

Here is one diva who is never seen without her signature red lips ! Be it a red carpet gala or grocery shopping, Gwen Stefani pulls off the red lips look effortlessly.

How to wear this look : Thick black slightly winged liner on upper lash line with lots of lengthening mascara paired with a hint of earthy pink on the apples of the cheeks. Any frost or satin finish eye shadow (optional)

Classic Red lips look with Revlon Colorburst ‘Crimson’

Hi everyone!

I’ve been doing more of subtle look lately so here’s a bold lips look with what else but the classic choice for bold lips..RED!

Bold lips in everyday wear look good with subtle eye and face makeup. It also makes a good combination with softly smoked eyes for a runway or themed look. Pair with neutral colors in clothing and accessories for best effect or at the maximum match with 1  piece of your attire- say shoes  or belt or bag.

Summary of this look –

On a well moisturized face, conceal required areas, apply light foundation ( I have skipped foundation here) apply reddish cheek tint on the apples of the cheeks with a light hand. Set with compact or loose powder. Alternatively , if using a powder blush, apply compact first and then apply blush. For the eyes, lightly smudge brown eye pencil on lid close to upper lash line and kohl on water line. Apply suitable base on lips ( lip liner, concealer/foundation) and apply red lipstick using brush for precise application.

4. Maybelline colossal volume mascara

1. Bourjois rouge hi -tech ’84 Rose pixel’ (as base )

This look has been converted from casual day time look to a dressy party look just by addition of the red lipstick and a change of attire and accessories.
